This policy applies to all staff, governors, and volunteers and aligns with the CBSE Keeping Children Safe Policy and the POCSO Act to ensure child protection at all levels.
Aims

Role of School Staff
Our school staff play a crucial role in:
- Identifying early warning signs of abuse or neglect.
- Providing immediate help to children in distress.
- Ensuring concerns are reported and addressed before escalation.
- Maintaining a safe learning environment for all students.
Designated Safeguarding Officers (DSO)
- A trained teacher will act as the Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO).
- The DSO will work closely with the Principal, children’s counsellor, and law enforcement agencies when necessary.
- All staff must report any concerns immediately to the DSO.
Principal’s Responsibilities
- Implement and enforce the child protection policies.
- Allocate adequate time and resources for safeguarding efforts.
- Ensure staff members are trained and feel comfortable reporting safety concerns.
- Promote child safety and ethical conduct in school activities and curriculum.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding child protection matters.
Child Safety Procedures
- The school counselor will provide support and guidance for children facing distress.
- Staff must document all concerns and maintain secure records.
- Suspected cases of abuse, neglect, or harm will be reported to local authorities or police following legal guidelines.
- The school will notify child protection services if a student with a protection plan is absent for more than two days without explanation.
Training & Compliance
- All staff members must read, understand, and sign this policy.
- The child protection policy will be reviewed and updated annually.
- A record of staff attendance in child safety training sessions will be maintained.
- The policy will be uploaded to the school website for transparency and accessibility.
